I gave each student a letter to bring home to parents today.  Attached to the letter was a progress report showing the three grades we have taken so far.

We did a workbook page today and started lesson four--People and the Environment.
This lesson is about how we are affected by our environment.  Today's topic was adapting or adjusting to the environment and modifying or making changes.
Our new vocabulary words are:
adapt
economy
modify
nonrenewable resource
scarce

 This photo shows the Mackinac Bridge in Michigan.  Our textbook has a photo of this bridge.  Building bridges is one of the ways people modify their environment.
