Wednesday and Thursday, November 17 and 18

On Wednesday we had our last DARE class.  The students practiced what they had learned by playing a game which involved responding to situations Deputy Smith presented to them.  The only DARE assignment is to write a report about how they feel and what they learned during the DARE classes.  The report should be about one page and in the DARE workbook there is an outline and a page for creating a rough draft.
The report is due on December 1, it is a requirement for DARE graduation.

On Thursday the 8th grade borrowed our room for Christmas  pictures, and we had class in the computer lab.  Since it was going to be a late lunch we began class with a snack of cookies and juice.  While we ate we watched a Discovery Education video about trains.  It went with our study of the transcontinental railroad.  We then used the rest of the time to work on our poster projects and since lunch was about 50 minutes late the extra time came in handy and most students finished or came very close to finishing their poster.
Watch for pictures of those projects in the near future.

Progress reports will come home Monday, November 22.
