Before lunch today we walked to the computer lab and watched a Discovery Education video about the causes of the Civil War.  Each student logged into their account and watched individually.  Early finishers looked up more information about the Civil War, some even found songs.
After lunch we went back to our textbook and read the information about Dred Scott and abolitionists.  We will pick up tomorrow with the Underground Railroad.

I sent home a progress report listing all the current grades, students returning it tomorrow with a parent signature can claim a $10 reward, from our classroom play money!
Students are working toward earning $100, then they can cash in for a reward. 

Upcoming assignments:
In lesson 2 we have a long list of people to know.  Students are going to choose one of these individuals, research their lives and create a fact sheet with seven interesting facts.  We will complete this at school and post on our blog the information students find.
