New Year, New Teacher, New Classmate, and New Chapter

Today as we returned to class in this new year we were greeted with many new adventures. First, I would like to take the time to explain to parents (just encase their student forgot to mention), that Mrs. Delilah's last day was December 17, and therefore, I, Mrs. Rebekah, will now be their Social Studies teacher. If at any time you need to contact me you may do so at school, 931-864-3496, or by e-mail at rmitchell@k12tn.net. Both the students and myself seemed to adjust very well today, however, I believe it will take us a day or so to get back into the full swing of things!
Next, we would like to welcome our new classmate! It was officially pointed out in class that we would no longer be 15 Fifth graders, but I assured them that we would make sure everyone knew that we had increased our numbers and that it wouldn't be a problem, and that our blog would stay 15 Fifth Graders.
And last, we are somewhat briefly leaving the "history part" behind us for awhile, we studied in Chapter 15, Lesson 1, about how immigrants become citizens, why people settle where they do, how this settlement leads to diversity, and finally how we, as Americans, can use technology to communicate and stay connected with one another.

A Look Forward: We will be looking into Climographs, Arts and Entertainment, as well as our National and Global Economies in the class periods ahead.
